Welcome friends and family! It is so great to welcome you to the community of Rooted 242.

Thank you for choosing to support the ministry of Rooted 242 and for coming alongside us and we attempt to minister to one of the most difficult and most misunderstood groups of people – young adults and older teens. It is hard because they are independent and do not look for support and help from other adults, but they still have a need for it. They reject people while at the same time crave relationships where they can be themselves without judgement. They are scared of making long term relationships because in order to build long term deep relationships it takes vulnerability. This vulnerability is scary when they live in a world that is plastered all over social media and they have no idea what true relationships look like.

Think about the last time you truly sat down and talked with a young adult. Was it a deep conversation or more of a “How’s the weather” type of conversation? (More on that in the future!)

This generation of young people have unique experiences and unique challenges that they are facing. Not only the young adults that have been in a loving home, but those who have experienced trauma in their life, those experiences are even harder to grow from and overcome. Life is just harder today than it was then in different ways.

I am excited to see the ways that the community of Moberly is going to encourage and uplift our young community members to make our tomorrows stronger. Through the ministries of Rooted 242, we will be able to accomplish this goal!
